Contemporary Hungarian writer, poet, ethnographer.
She was born in Magyarfalu/Arini, Moldova, Romania in 1978.
She graduated the Nagy István High School of Fine Arts in Miercurea Ciuc.
She obtained qualification as a kindergarten teacher, then as a teacher of religion in Budapest. She graduated the University of Szeged as an ethnographer. She obtained a PhD at the University of Pécs, Doctoral School of the Department of Ethnography and Cultural Anthropology, in 2012.
Since 2000 he has published her writings in various literary journals and anthologies in Hungary and abroad.
She is the editor in Budapest of the journal Moldvai Magyarság [Hungarians from Moldova].
She has published four volumes of poetry, a volume of short stories, a volume of drama and a volume of essays as well as five ethnographic books.
She is Research Fellow of the Ethnographic Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Research Centre for the Humanities.
She is member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
She was awarded the András Bálint Prize in 2004, the Tokaj Writers’ Camp Prize in 2008, the István Bella and Bárka Prizes in 2010, the Attila József Prize in 2012 and the János Jankó Prize in 2013.

Iancu Laura 1978-ban született a moldvai Magyarfaluban. Költő, író, irodalomszervező; néprajztudós és kisebbségi képviseletre is bátor értelmiségi. A középiskolát Csíkszeredában végezte el, s több diplomát szerzett Budapest, Pécs és Szeged egyetemein. Ez időben etnográfusi doktorátusán dolgozik. Jelenlétét a kortársi literatúrában díjak, elismerések és szokatlan szeretet övezi. Verseskötetei (Pár csángó szó,2004; Karmaiból kihullajt, 2007; Névtelen nap, 2009), néprajzi gyűjtései-tanulmányai (Johófiú Jankó,2002; Magyarfalusi emlékek, 2005; Az aranyréce, 2005; Jeles napok, ünnepi szokások a moldvai Magyarfaluban, 2011) és prózai munkái (Életfogytiglan, 2009; Szeretföld, 2011) mind komolyabb életművé állnak össze.
