Vasile GÂRNEŢ

 

Vasile Gârneţ - born on 3 February  1958, in Republic of Moldova, namely in comune  Hănăsenii Noi from Lăpuşa district– graduated the Faculty of Journalism of Chişinău University in 1983. He is a member of The Writers’ Union of Romania and Moldova and a member of PEN Club. He was a book editor and editor-cheef at Hyperion Publishing from Chişinău and since 1994 he has become the director of Contrafort, a journal of literature and intelectual dialog.

The Moldovan writer conducts an active press publishing activity in Chişinău and Romania. He received several scholarships and creative fellowships in countries like Germany (1995), USA (1998), Czech Republic (2000, 2001) and he also participated on Europe Literature Express 2000, a literary journey through 14 European countries, organized by LiteraturWERKSTAD (Berlin) and The Council of Europe. Vasile Gârneţ is present in several anthologies of poetry published in Romania and abroad. His poems has been translated in countries like USA, Germany, U.K., Italy, France, Netherlands, Russia, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Sweden, Finland, Belgium and Belarus.
