Krzysztof Siwczyk was born in 1977. He read Cultural Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice. He is a columnist and a reviewer, and has published two books of literary criticism. In 1999, he played the lead role in Lech Majewski’s feature film about the suicidal poet Rafał Wojaczek (nominated for the European Film Awards, Paris 2000). Other films he played in include Bluesmani (“Bluesmen”), the multi-generational project Czuję głód (“I Feel Hunger”) or Wydalony (“Expelled”) – a film based on motifs from Beckett, which Siwczyk co-produced with Adam Sikora and in which, again, he was the lead actor. Since 2000, he has been a member of the European Film Academy, Polish Writers’ Association and Pen Club. He is the Artistic Director of Krakow's International Miłosz Poetry Festival.

Krzysztof Siwczyk est né en 1977. Il a suivi des Cultural Studies à l’Université de Silésie à Katowice. Il est journaliste et auteur de recensions. On lui doit en outre deux livres de critique littéraire. En 1999, il joue le rôle titre dans le film de Lech Majewski au sujet du poète suicidaire Rafał Wojaczek (nommé aux European Film Awards à Paris en 2000). Il apparait également dans Bluesmani (“Bluesmen”), le projet multigénérationnel Czuję głód (“I Feel Hunger”) et dans Wydalony (“Expelled”), un film basé sur des thèmes de Beckett, coproduit par Siwczyk en collaboration avec Adam Sikora et dans lequel il est l’acteur principal. Depuis 2000, il est membre du European Film Academy, de l’Association des Ecrivains polonais et du Pen Club. Il est le Directeur artistique du Festival international de Poésie Miłosz de Cracovie.

Krzysztof Siwczyk werd geboren in 1977 en studeerde Cultuurwetenschappen aan de Silezische Universiteit in Katowice. Hij is columnist en recensent, en publiceerde reeds twee boeken van literatuurkritiek. In 1999 speelde hij de hoofdrol in Lech Majewski’s speelfilm over de suïcidale dichter Rafał Wojaczek (die overigens genomineerd werd voor de European Film Awards te Parijs, 2000). Daarnaast speelde hij ook in Bluesmani (“Blueskerels”), het multi-generatie project Czuję głód (“Ik voel honger”) en Wydalony (“Verbannen”) – een film, gebaseerd op motieven van Beckett, die Siwczyk coproduceerde met Adam Sikora en waarin hij ook de hoofdrol op zich nam. Hij is vanaf 2000 lid van de European Film Academy (de Europese Filmacademie), de Poolse Schrijversvereniging en PEN Club. Daarnaast is hij ook Artistiek Directeur van het internationale Miłosz Festival, een poëziefestival te Krakau.
