Vasco GATO

Vasco Gato nasceu em Lisboa em 1978. É nessa cidade que actualmente reside e trabalha como tradutor. Com estudos em economia e filosofia, após outros trabalhos, viria a assentar em 2006 na tradução literária, colaborando com várias editoras portuguesas e contando com perto de 100 títulos traduzidos.

O seu primeiro livro de poemas, Um Mover de Mão, foi publicado em 2000. Deu à estampa desde então uma dezena de títulos de poesia, para além de duas antologias de poemas traduzidos por si, uma peça de teatro e um romance, Adius, acabado de sair em 2020.

 

 

 

 

Vasco Gato was born in 1978 in Lisbon, where he currently lives and works as a translator. Having studied economics and philosophy, after other random jobs, he began his work in literary translation in 2006, collaborating with several Portuguese publishing houses in about 100 books.

His first poetry book, Um Mover de Mão, was published in 2000. Since then, he has published over a dozen poetry books, besides two anthologies of poems he translated, a play and a novel, Adius, which just came out in 2020.

Vasco Gato est né à Lisbonne en 1978. C’est dans cette ville qu’il réside actuellement et travaille comme traducteur. Avec des études en économie et philosophie, et suite à différents travaux, il finira en 2006 par s’orienter vers la traduction littéraire, collaborera avec plusieurs éditeurs portugais et comptera à son actif la traduction de près de 100 titres.

Son premier recueil de poèmes, Um Mover de Mão, a été publié en 2000. Il a, depuis lors, fait imprimer une dizaine de titres de poésie, ainsi que deux anthologies de poèmes traduits par lui, une pièce de théâtre et un roman, Adius, tout juste sorti de presse en 2020.

Vasco Gato werd in 1978 geboren in Lissabon, waar hij momenteel ook woont en werkt. Van huis uit filosoof en econoom legt hij zich sinds 2006 toe op het vertalen van literatuur en hij heeft inmiddels bijna honderd titels op zijn naam staan.

Zijn eerste dichtbundel, Um Mover de Mão (‘Een handbeweging’) verscheen in 2000, gevolgd door nog eens tien eigen titels, twee bloemlezingen van door hem vertaalde poëzie, een toneelstuk en, in 2020, de roman Adius.
