TRANSPOESIE - generations

For the celebration of European Day of Languages on 26 September EUNIC in Brussels and its member institutes, in cooperation with STIB/MIVB, are bringing European poetry into the Brussels metro system. A collection of around 20 poems from 20 European countries in 18 languages will be displayed in their original language alongside a translation in French and Flemish, allowing nearly 3 million weekly travellers to turn their trip into an inspiring journey.

MARE

M’affaccio alla finestra, e vedo il mare:
vanno le stelle, tremolano l’onde.
Vedo stelle passare, onde passare:
un guizzo chiama, un palpito risponde.

Ecco sospira l’acqua, alita il vento:
sul mare è apparso un bel ponte d’argento.

Ponte gettato sui laghi sereni,
per chi dunque sei fatto e dove meni?
