הדברים

 

ילד שלי, ילד שלי

אלה מפלצות הבית שאני מאכילה

כל יום

בפקוח עיניך היפות אל תוך אור ניגר

אני מפתה אותן לשתוק בדבש וחלב

בלחם מתוק וריבה סגולה

עד אין קירות רועדים, אין גג נעלם

ואנחנו הדברים מונחים במקומם

My child, my child

They are the monsters within our home who I am feeding

Every day

Under the watch of your beautiful eyes in the flowing light

I silence them with milk and honey

With soft bread and violet jam

Until the walls stop trembling

And no roof will disappear

We things remain on our place

Mon enfant, mon enfant,

Ce sont les monstres de la maison que je nourris

Chaque jour

Sous le regard de tes beaux yeux dans la lumière qui coule

Je les réduis au silence avec du lait et du miel

Du pain sucré et de la confiture violette

Jusqu’à ce que les murs ne tremblent plus

Que le toit ne disparaisse pas

Totdat er geen bevende muren meer zijn
