Eftychia PANAYIOTOU

 

Eftychia Panayiotou (Chypre, 1980) est une poète, éditrice et traductrice de poésie. Elle a étudié la philosophie à Athènes et le grec moderne à Londres. Elle est actuellement en train de compléter son doctorat sur la poésie des femmes en Grec Moderne. Son premier livre de poésie, megas kipouros, a été publié en 2007. Son deuxième, Mavri Moralina, publié en 2010, a été sélectionné pour le Prix de l’Etat de Chypre et le Prix de Poésie "Diavazo" ; il a en outre gagné le troisième prix pour le Meilleur Livre de Jeune Poète.
Sa poésie a paru en anglais, allemand, italien, espagnol et croate. Elle a traduit en Grec les Love Poems de Anne Sexton (Éditions Melani, 2010), et plusieurs poèmes d’autres poètes américains, tels Anne Carson, Robert Duncan, Jack Spicer ou avi Shankar. Elle est également critique pour des journaux et des magazines littéraires.

 

 

 

 

 

Eftychia Panayiotou (Cyprus, 1980) is a poet, copy editor and poetry translator. She studied Philosophy in Athens and Modern Greek in London and is currently completing her Phd on modern greek female poetry. Her first poetry book, megas kipouros, was published in 2007 whereas her second one, Mavri Moralina, published in 2010, was shortlisted for the Cyprus State Prize and the "Diavazo" Poetry Prize and won the third prize for Best Book of Young Poet. Her poetry has appeared into English, German, Italian, Spanish, Croatian. Panayiotou has translated into Greek Anne Sexton's Love Poems (Melani Publishers, 2010) as well as works of other American poets, such as Anne Carson, Robert Duncan, Jack Spicer, Ravi Shankar. She also writes book reviews for newspapers and literary magazines.
