Imogen Stirling is a Scottish artist. A playwright, poet and performer, she was awarded ‘Artist of the Year’ supported by the National Theatre of Scotland and shortlisted for the prestigious Out-Spoken Prize for Poetry. Imogen has performed her work extensively in venues and at festivals around the UK and Europe, including Latitude Festival, Annikin Runofestivaali, Secret Garden Party and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. She features as a writer and performer on Sky Arts’ BAFTA-winning television show, Life & Rhymes, and was a participant of the BBC Words First talent development scheme. Imogen’s collection Love The Sinner (Verve Poetry Press, 2021) completed a 26-date book tour, visiting music festivals, literary festivals and arts venues from Finland to the Isle of Mull. Love The Sinner was adapted for theatre, produced by internationally renowned Vanishing Point Theatre Company and directed by their Artistic Director Matthew Lenton. It sold out at the Tron Theatre and Traverse Theatre to five star reviews across the board. Imogen’s first collection #Hypocrisy (Speculative Books, 2019) was longlisted for the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award. Speaking about Imogen’s work, Benjamin Zephaniah said: ‘This is the work of a lyrical genius. There is nothing like this. There is no one like Imogen.’
