7 October 2015 | 20:00 | PASSA PORTA (Brussels) | Poëzie & Crisis / Poetry & Crisis / Crise & Poésie ”

We have invited five poets from various countries (Belgium, France, Italy, Moldova and Turkey) to think about the relationship between poetry and the 'crisis' facing the contemporary world — whether this crisis be of a social, political, economic, spiritual or poetic nature. The goal of this topic is to raise a few questions which should give rise to an interesting exchange during which the poets will have the opportunity to define and outline the work they do. How does the theme of crisis make itself felt in their texts? What kind of crisis is dealt with? Does poetry need crisis or is it a threat? How does poetry help us to think about the concept of crisis? Can it still serve as a record for crisis or hope to offer a response? Is poetry itself in crisis? ...
