Eg standi á eini oyggj av tara

haldandi ondini

glíðandi í sevju og slýggi

haldandi javnvágini við knívi í hond

reytt æðranet á knívsegg

mítt grøna sevjumikla ríki

sovandi verur

á elasmáum stelkum

I stand on an island of matted seaweed

holding my breath

as I slip in ooze and slime

I keep a difficult balance gripping a knife in one hand

a skein of red veins the razor´s edge

my lush green empire

of sleeping siliques

on tender filaments

Je me tiens debout sur une île de varech

retenant mon souffle

glissant dans la vase et la boue

gardant l’équilibre un couteau à la main

un filet de veines rouges sur le tranchant

mon empire juteux verdoyant

des êtres endormis

sur de tendres filaments.

Ik sta op een eiland van zeewier 

hou mijn adem in

terwijl ik over slib en slijm glij

bewaar mijn evenwicht met een mes in mijn hand

een net van rode aderen het scherp van de snede

mijn groene, weelderige rijk

slapende schepsels

op tere steeltjes
