Tomasz Różycki, né en 1970, poète, traducteur, habite à Opole, en Pologne. Lauréat du concours littéraire de K.K.Baczyński à Łódź 1997, de Czas Kultury à Poznań 1997, de Rainer Maria Rilke à Sopot 1998, il était nominé au Passeport de Politique en 2004 et au Prix « Nike » en 2005 et 2007 et au Prix Littéraire Gdynia (2007). Il est lauréat du Prix Kościelscy en 2004 et du Prix de Joseph Brodsky par les Cahiers Littéraires 2006 et aussi Art & Litterary Prize 3 Quarks Daily 2010 (USA) et le Prix litteraire „Kamien” a Lublin 2010. Il a publié dans plusieurs revues et anthologies en Pologne et à l’étranger.
Il a publié les recueils de poésie suivants: « Vaterland » 1997, « Anima » 1999, « Chata umaita » 2001, « Świat i Antyświat » 2003 (élu Meilleur Livre Poétique en 2003 par le Forum Critique « Literatorium »), « Wiersze » (« Poèmes ») 2004, « Dwanaście Stacji » ( « Douze Stations ») en 2004 (élu Meilleur Livre du Printemps 2004 et le Prix Kościelscy 2004) – dont est tiré le poème Pociąg, « Kolonie » 2006, « Księga obrotów » 2010, « Bestiarium » 2012 (roman), « Tomi. Notatki z miejsca postoju » 2013 (essai).
Ses poèmes sont traduits en français (« Colonies », Paris 2006), en anglais (« The Forgotten Keys », Cambridge MA, 2007, "Colonies" 2013 and "Twelve Stations" 2014), en allemand („Zwolf Stationen”, Munich 2009), en italien („Antimondo”, Florence 2009 ), en slovaque („Protivietor”, Bratislava 2008), en serbe ("Anima, a postoje", Vrsac 2013).
Il est aussi l’auter de traductions du francais - „Un coup de dés” de S. Mallarmé (Kraków 2005) et „Certidoutes” ( „Wątpewności”) de J. Burko ( Kraków 2011).
Il a pris part à des festivals poétiques : Le Train Littéraire Europe 2000, le Marché de la Poésie 2000 et 2009 à Paris, Poezija Express 2001 en Slovenie, Medana 2002 en Slovenie et en Italie, Le Printemps Poétique 2001 en Lithuanie, Inscriptis 2003 en Ukraine, Rencontres Européennes de la Poésie 2004 à Ivry, Val de Marne, Monde Paralelle 2004 à Lille, The Krakow-Houston Summer Poetry Seminar (2004), Temps de Paroles à Dijon 2005 et Solothurn Days of the Literature 2005 en Suisse, Literaturfestival Berlin 2006, Poetry International à Londres 2008, Fontane Festival a Neuruppin 2010, In Croce di Civilita a Venise et aussi plusieurs autres.
Il a reçu une bourse Vermont Studio Center en 2009 et Claremont McKenna College en 2011 aux États-Unis, ainsi que Edenkoben Literaturhaus 2010 et Literaturisches Colloquium Berlin 2012 en Allemagne, Krems Art in Residence en 2011 en Autriche et Chateau Lavigny 2008 en Suisse. Membre du Jury Pix Koscielscy (Lausanne) et Prix du Jeune Ecrivain en France.
Il travaille comme professeur de littérature française à l’Université d’Opole.

Tomasz Różycki (1970) studied Romance languages at Krakow University and taught French for a time in Poland. He has become rather well-known as a poet, essayist and translator (of which his translation of Un coup de dés by St. Mallarmé is particularly worthy of mention). In 2007, his anthology Kolonie was nominated for the NIKE literary prize. Kolonie (Colonies) was published in Paris in a bilingual edition by L’Improviste, with the French translation supplied by J. Burko.

Różycki has also published the volumes Vaterland (1997), Anima (1999) and Świat i antyświat (2003). In 2004, he published a long prose poem entitled Dwanaście stacji. His anthology Księga obrotów was published in Poland in September.
In early 2011, the Dutch language periodical Poëziekrant will publish an interview with Różycki alongside eight poems from Kolonie, translated for the first time into Dutch. At the same time, Slavica Bruxellensia, the ULB’s electronic periodical for Slavonic Studies (definitive internet address available soon) will present several videos in which one can watch the author read his own poems in different areas of Brussels.

Tomasz Różycki (1970) studeerde Romaanse talen in Krakau en was enige tijd werkzaam als leraar Frans. Różycki verwierf faam als dichter, essayist en vertaler (o.a. Mallarmé's Un Coup de dés). In 2007 werd zijn bundel Kolonie genomineerd voor de NIKE literatuurprijs. Kolonie (Colonies) werd in 2006 in een tweetalige versie uitgegeven bij L’Improviste in Parijs, vertaald door de betreurde Jacques Burko.
Andere bundels zijn Vaterland (1997), Anima (1999), Świat i antyświat (2003) en het in 2004 bekroonde lange verhalende gedicht Dwanaście stacji. Zijn recentste bundel Księga obrotów verscheen in september van dit jaar.
In het Nederlands verscheen van Różycki in het tijdschrift Nexus (48, 2007) het essay Over kleuren. In maart 2011 verschenen in de Poëziekrant een interview en een 8-tal gedichten uit de bundel Kolonie in vertaling. Later dit jaar zal het online-tijdschrift Slavica Bruxellensia enkele podcasts plaatsen waarop Różycki uit eigen werk voorleest op uitgekozen plekken in Brussel...
