Varró Dániel a fiatal költőgeneráció kiemelkedő alakja, akiért szerteágazó alkotótevékenysége és egyedi humora miatt a kritika és a közönség egyszerre rajong. A formának és a paródiának egyaránt mestere; számos műfajban megmutatta már a tehetségét: versek, gyermekversek, színdarabok valamint műfordítások fűződnek a nevéhez. Munkássága utánozhatatlan stílust, frissességet és modernitást hozott a XXI. század magyar irodalmába.
Varró Dániel 1977. szeptember 11-én született Budapesten. Első verseit 12 éves korában írta. Diplomáját az Eötvös Lóránd Tudományegyetem magyar–angol szakán szerezte. Versei és műfordításai már fiatal kora óta jelennek meg különböző folyóiratokban és irodalmi újságokban. Színházba járók is gyakran találkozhatnak a nevével, hiszen több budapesti és vidéki színház műsorában szerepel, mint drámaíró, műfordító.
Művei több alkalommal részesültek kitüntetésben, néhányat megemlítve: Bögre azúr című verseskötetével 1999-ben Bródy Sándor díjat nyert (Az év legjobb első verseskötetéért járó díj), Túl a Maszat-hegyen verses meseregényéért 2004-ben nemzetközi IBBY díjat kapott (Az Év Gyermekkönyve díj).

Dániel Varró is one of the most prominent figures among the young Hungarian generation of poets, admired for his wide range of works and unique humour.  He has already shown his talent in many forms and genres: poems, children‘s poems, theatre plays and literary translation. His work has brought authenticity and a fresh breeze into contemporary Hungarian literature.
Dániel Varró was born in Budapest, on the 11th of September 1977. He wrote his first poems at the age of 12. He studied Hungarian and English literature at Eötvös Lóránd University in Budapest, Hungary. His poems and translations have been published since his adolescence. He co-wrote and edited many books besides his own pieces. Theatergoers also know his name; he has worked with many theatres in Budapest and in Hungary as a playwright and translator.
Varró’s work has already been awarded by numerous prizes such as: ‘Mug of azúr’ with Bródy prize for best first poetry book of the year in 1999, ‘Beyond the Smudgy Mountain’ (2003) with the international IBBY Best Children Book of the Year prize in 2004.

Dániel Varró est l’une des figures les plus en vue parmi la jeune génération des poètes hongrois pour la diversité de son travail et son humour particulier. Son talent s’exprime dans les domaines aussi différents que les poèmes pour adultes et pour enfants, les pièces de théâtre et les traductions littéraires. Son travail apporte un vent de fraîcheur et d’authenticité  à la littérature contemporaine hongroise.
Dániel Varró est né à Budapest le 11 septembre 1977. Il écrit son premier poème à l’âge de 12 ans. Il étudie la littérature hongroise et anglaise à l’Université Eötvös Lóránt de Budapest. Ses poèmes et traductions sont publiés depuis le début de sa carrière dans la presse spécialisée. Régulièrement les pièces de théâtre interprétées à Budapest et en province sont soit écrites soit traduites par ses soins.
Certaines de ses œuvres ont déjà été primées : le prix Bródy 1999 pour le Meilleur Premier Recueil de Poèmes pour  “Tasse d’azur”, le prix IBBY 2004 du Meilleur Livre pour Enfants pour son livre ‘De l’autre côté du Mont Barbouillé » (2003).
