Pedro MEXIA

Pedro Mexia (Lisboa, 1972). Licenciado em Direito pela Universidade Católica. Cronista e crítico literário nos jornais Diário de Notícias, Público e, actualmente, Expresso. Participa no programa de comentário político "Governo Sombra" (TSF / TVI-24). Pertenceu à direcção da Cinemateca Portuguesa. É consultor cultural do Presidente da República. Publicou seis volumes de crónicas e quatro de diários, sendo os títulos mais recentes “Lá Fora” (2018) e “Lei Seca” (2014), respectivamente, além de seis livros de poemas, antologiados em “Menos por Menos” (2011), a que se seguiu “Uma Vez Que Tudo se Perdeu” (2015). Traduziu Robert Bresson, Tom Stoppard, Martin Crimp e Hugo Williams. Organizou uma colectânea de ensaios de Agustina Bessa-Luís, uma antologia de poemas de Rui Knopfli, e, com José Tolentino Mendonça, “Verbo: Deus como Interrogação na Poesia Portuguesa”. Coordena a colecção de poesia das Edições Tinta-da-China. Foi duas vezes membro do júri do Prémio Camões.

Pedro Mexia (Lisboa, 1972). Graduated in Law by the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University. Columnist and literary critic in the newspapers “Diário de Notícias”, “Público” and, currently in “Expresso”. He participates in the TV and radio political commentary program "Governo Sombra" (TSF / TVI-24). He formed part of the Cinemateca Portuguesa management. He is currently cultural consultant of the President of the Republic. He published six volumes of chronicles and four of diaries, with the most recent titles "Lá Fora" (2018) and "Lei Seca" (2014), respectively, as well as six poetry books, anthologized in "Menos por Menos" (2011) , which was followed by " Uma Vez Que Tudo se Perdeu " (2015). Pedro translated works by Robert Bresson, Tom Stoppard, Martin Crimp and Hugo Williams. He organized a collection of essays by Agustina Bessa-Luís, an anthology of Rui Knopfli’s poems, and with José Tolentino Mendonça, " Verbo: Deus como Interrogação na Poesia Portuguesa". He coordinates the poetry collection of the Tinta -da-China Editions. He was twice a member of the jury of the Camões Prize (the most important cultural prize in Portuguese).

Il est consultant culturel auprès du président de la République. Behoorde tot de directie van de Cinemateca Portuguesa. Is cultureel adviseur van de President van de Republiek. Publiceerde zes bundels van columns en vier dagboekdelen, met als meest recente titels "Lá fora" (2018) en "Lei seca" (2014), alsook zes bundels poëzie, verzameld in "Menos por menos " (2011), gevolgd door "Uma vez que tudo se perdeu " (2015). Vertaalde Robert Bresson, Tom Stoppard, Martin Crimp en Hugo Williams. Organiseerde een verzameling essays van Agustina Bessa-Luís, een bloemlezing van de dichter Rui Knöpfli en, samen met José Tolentino Mendonça, "Verbo: Deus como Interrogação na Poesia Portuguesa". Coördineert de poëziecollectie van de Edições Tinta-da-China. Was twee keer jurylid van de Camões-prijs (de belangrijkste culturele onderscheiding in de Portugese taal)
