Gian Maria Annovi is associate professor of Italian and comparative literature at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles). He debuted as a poet at the age of twenty, with the collection of poems entitled Denkmal (1998). His second work Terza persona cortese (2007) won the Mazzacurati-Russo Prize. He won the Marazza Prize for young poetry with La Scolta (2013). In 2010 he published Kamikaze (and other people), in 2013 Italics and, in 2018, Persona presente con passato imperfetto. His new book, Discomparse (2023) was selected for the Premio Strega. Gian Maria Annovi’s work has been included in several anthologies and translated into English, French, German, and Spanish.

Gian Maria Annovi est professeur associé de littérature italienne et de littérature comparée à l'University of Southern California (Los Angeles). Il fait ses débuts de poète à l'âge de vingt ans, avec son recueil de poèmes intitulé Denkmal (1998). Sa deuxième œuvre Terza persona cortese (2007) a remporté le prix Mazzacurati-Russo. Il a remporté le prix Marazza de la jeune poésie grâce à La Scolta (2013). En 2010 il publie le livre Kamikaze (e altre persone), en 2013 Italics et, en 2018, Persona presente con passato imperfetto. Son nouveau livre, Discomparse (2023) a été sélectionné pour le Prix Strega. Le travail de Gian Maria Annovi a été inclus dans plusieurs anthologies et traduit en anglais, français, aleman, et espagnol.

Gian Maria Annovi is universitair hoofddocent Italiaanse en vergelijkende literatuurwetenschap aan de University of Southern California (Los Angeles). Hij debuteerde op twintigjarige leeftijd als dichter met de dichtbundel Denkmal (1998). Zijn tweede werk Terza persona cortese (2007) won de Mazzacurati-Russo-prijs. Zijn nieuwe boek Discomparse (2023) werd geselecteerd voor de Premio Strega.
