Mieze Medusa (born 1975) is an Austrian author, Slam poet, rapper, and publisher. She is a main pillar in the Austrian Hip-Hop- and Poetry-Slam-scene, and has been organizing and hosting various Poetry Slam formats ever since 2004, such as the longest running Poetry Slam “textstrom” in Vienna, the “KULTUM” slam in Graz, as well as a number of other slam in various theatres, museums, and other cultural institutions.

In 2002 she won the FM4 Wortlaut literature competition with her text “MussJa AllesInklusive Sein”, and in 2007 she won the FM4 Protestsongcontest together with tenderboy and Violetta Parisini with the track “Nicht Meine Revolution”.

In 2008 her first novel “Freischnorcheln” was published by the Milena publishing house. Since then she has regularly published novels, anthologies, Poetry Slam texts, and Rap albums. Her second novel “Mia Messer” was nominated for the Alpha literature award and has been presented in Austria as well as internationally. Together with Markus Köhle and Nadja Bucher she formed “Dogma Chronik Arschtritt”, a regular series of readings in Vienna from 2007-2012, ever since 2015 she is a member of “Sinn & Seife” (formerly “Die Schleuder Gang). In addition she has written for the Viennese free magazine “The Gap”, as well as having worked as a columnist for the feminist pop-cultural magazine “an.schläge”. In 2012 she founded the Poetry Slam team “MYLF” (Mother’s You’d Like to Flow with) together Yasmo.

Mieze Medusa (née en 1975) est une artiste autrichienne, connue comme auteure, slameuse, rappeuse et éditrice. Elle compte parmi les grandes pointures de la scène hip-hop et du slam en Autriche. Depuis 2004, elle organise et anime différents événements autour du slam, à l’image du Poetry Slam Textstrom de Vienne (le plus ancien en date), du festival KULTUM Poetry Slam à Graz, sans oublier de nombreuses slam sessions dans différents théâtres, musées et autres centres culturels.

En 2002, son texte « MussJa AllesInklusive Sein » lui valut de remporter le concours littéraire FM4 Wortlaut, suivi en 2007 du FM4 Protestsongcontest pour le titre « Nicht meine Revolution », interprété aux côtés de tenderboy et de Violetta Parisini.

Paru en 2008 Milena Verlag, son premier roman s’intitule Freischnorcheln. Depuis, elle publie régulièrement romans, anthologies, textes de slam et de poésie et autres albums de rap. Mia Messer, son deuxième roman, sélectionné pour le prix littéraire Alpha, a été présenté en Autriche et à l’international. On la retrouve sur la scène viennoise de 2007 à 2012, aux côtés de Markus Köhle et de Nadja Bucher, dans les lectures du collectif Dogma Chronik Arschtritt. Depuis 2015, elle participe aux lectures proposées par Die Schleuder Gang. Elle a également écrit pour le magazine gratuit The Gap, édité à Vienne, et publié des chroniques dans les colonnes du magazine culturel pop féminin an.schläge. Depuis 2012, elle forme avec Yasmo le slam team MYLF (Mothers You’d Like to Flow with).

Mieze Medusa (°1975) is een Oostenrijkse auteur, slammer, rapper en uitgever. Ze is een van de prominentste figuren uit de Oostenrijkse hiphop- en poetry slamscène. Ze organiseert en modereert sinds 2004 verschillende poetry slamevenementen, zoals bv. het oudste, het Weense festival ‚textstrom’, of de ‚KULTUM’ poetry slam in Graz, en slams in verschillende theaterzalen, musea en cultuurhuizen.

In 2002 won ze met haar tekst ‚MussJa AllesInklusive Sein’ de literatuurwedstrijd FM4 Wortlaut en in 2007 samen met tenderboy en Violetta Parisini en de track ‚Nicht meine Revolution’ de FM4 Protestsongcontest.

In 2008 verscheen haar eerste roman ‚Freischnorcheln’ bij Milena Verlag. Sindsdien publiceert ze geregeld: romans, anthologieën, poetry slamteksten en rapalbums. Haar tweede roman, ‚Mia Messer’, werd genomineerd voor de Alpha-Literaturpreis, en niet alleen in Oostenrijk maar ook internationaal voorgesteld. Samen met Markus Köhle en Nadja Bucher organiseerde ze van 2007 tot 2012 het Weense leespodium ‚Dogma Chronik Arschtritt’, en sinds 2015 maakt ze deel uit van het leespodium ‚Die Schleuder Gang’. Ook schreef ze voor het Weense gratis verspreide magazine ‚The Gap’, en columns voor het feministische popmagazine ‚an.schläge’. Sinds 2012 vormt ze samen met Yasmo het poetry slamteam MYLF (Mothers You'd Like to Flow with).
