Poète d'expression française, linguiste, traductrice, enseignante, Marlèna Braester est née à Jassy, en Roumanie. Elle vit en Israël depuis 1980. Docteur en linguistique de l’Université de Paris VIII, elle est Présidente de L'Association des Ecrivains Israéliens de Langue Française. Rédactrice en chef de la revue Continuum - Revue des Ecrivains Israéliens de Langue Française. Elle est traductrice de Benjamin Fondane (du roumain en français) et d’Amos Oz (de l’hébreu en roumain) et de nombreux poètes israéliens et roumains. Elle a reçu le prix "Ilarie Voronca" en 2001 pour le volume Oublier en avant, le prix"Hélène Jacques-Lerta" en 2006 pour le volume La lumière et ses ombres. Enfin elle a été promue Chevalier dans l'ordre des Palmes Académiques, 2003, pour services rendus à la culture française.

A Doctor in linguistics (1991) at University of Paris VIII, she is the President of the Association of Francophone Israeli Writers and Editor-in-chief of Continuum – Magazine for Francophone Israeli Writers. She is the translator of Benjamin Fondane (Romanian into French) and of Amos Oz (Hebrew into Romanian). She got the"Ilarie Voronca" Price in 2001 for her book "Forgetting What Will Be" and the "Hélène Jacques-Lerta" Price in 2006 for her book "Lights and Shadows". She has been distinguished Knight of the Order of Academic Palms, 2003, for her services rendered to the French culture.
Marlèna Braester, Franstalige dichteres, taalkundige, vertaalster en lerares werd geboren in Jassy, Roemenië. Ze woont sinds 1980 in Israël. Ze doctoreerde in de taalkunde aan de Universiteit van Parijs VIII, ze is Voorzitster van de Vereniging der Franstalige Israëlische schrijvers en Hoofdredactrice van het tijdschrift Continuum – Tijdschrift der Franstalige Israëlische Schrijvers. Ze is de vertaalster van Benjamin Fondane (Roemeens naar Frans), van Amos Oz (Hebreeuws naar Roemeens) en van talrijke andere Israëlische en Roemeense dichters. Ze nam de "Ilarie Voronca" Prijs in 2001 in ontvangst voor Oublier en avant en de "Hélène Jacques-Lerta" Prijs in 2006 voor La lumière et ses ombres. Ze ontving de onderscheiding van Chevalier dans l'ordre des Palmes Académiques, 2003, voor bewezen diensten aan de France cultuur.
