Radna FABIAS

Radna Fabias (1983) is geboren en getogen op Curaçao. Ze studeerde af op de HKU in Utrecht en maakte haar debuut als dichter met de bundel Habitus, waar ze de C. Buddingh’ prijs, de Awater Poëzie prijs, de Herman de Coninck prijs en de Grote Poëzieprijs mee won. Ze werd door de Volkskrant uitgeroepen tot het literair talent van 2019.

Radna Fabias was born in Curaçao in 1983. After moving to the Netherlands as a teenager, she graduated from the University of the Arts Utrecht. Her 2018 debut collection, Habitus, won the C. Buddingh’ Prize, the Awater Poetry Prize, the Herman de Coninck Prize and the Grote Poëzieprijs. Dutch daily de Volkskrant selected Fabias as the literary talent of 2019.  Habitus was published in English in 2021 (Deep Vellum, tr. David Colmer).

Née en 1983 à Curaçao, Radna Fabias, après avoir grandi sur cette île des Caraïbes néerlandaises, a effectué ses études à l’Université des Arts (HKU) d’Utrecht. Habitus marque son entrée en poésie, recueil récompensé par le prix C. Buddingh’, le prix Awater Poëzie, le prix Herman de Coninck et le Grote Poëzieprijs. La version française d’Habitus a paru en 2019 aux éditions Caractères dans une traduction de Daniel Cunin.
