Transpoesie - Poets

Wioletta GRZEGORZEWSKA is a writer and translator from the village of  Koziegłowe, on the Krakow-Częstochowa Plateau. She lived in Częstochowa before leaving Poland for the Isle of Wight where she lived for around ten years. At present, she lives in East Tilbury, on the Thames.

She has published several tomes of poetry under the pseudonym Wioletta GREG, notably Wzory skończoności i teorie przypadku/Finite Formulae and Theories of Chance (translated into English by Marek Kazmierski), the mini book Polska prowincja (written with Andrzej Muszyński) and Guguła, a work of prose adapted for the stage by the Teatr Dramatyczny from Białystok.

She was the winner of the Złota Sowa Polonii prize in Vienna and was nominated for the prestigious NIKE prize, the Gdynia prize and the international Canadian prize The Griffin Poetry Prize.

In January 2017, Portobello Books will publish her book Swallowing Mercury.

Her work has been translated into English, Spanish, Catalan, French and Welsh.

Wioletta GRZEGORZEWSKA est une écrivaine et traductrice originaire du village de Koziegłowy, dans le plateau de Cracovie-Częstochowa. Elle habita Częstochowa avant de quitter la Pologne pour l’Ile de Wight où elle résida une dizaine d’années. Elle habite actuellement East Tilbury, sur la Tamise.

Elle a publié plusieurs tomes de poésie sous le pseudonyme de Wioletta GREG. On lui doit notamment Wzory skończoności i teorie przypadku / Finite Formulae and Theories of Chance(traduction anglaise de Marek Kazmierski), le mini livre Polska prowincja (écrit avec Andrzej Muszyński) et Guguła, une œuvre en prose dont le Teatr Dramatyczny de Białystok a monté l’adaptation. 

Elle fut lauréate du prix Złota Sowa Polonii à Vienne et nominée du prestigieux prix NIKE, du prix Gdynia et du prix international canadien The Griffin Poetry Prize. 

En janvier 2017, les éditions Portobello Books publieront son livre Swallowing Mercury. 

Son œuvre est traduite en anglais, en espagnol, en catalan, en français et en gallois.

Wioletta GRZEGORZEWSKA - auteur en vertaler. Pseudonym: Wioletta GREG (° 1974, Koziegłowy). Groeide op in een dorp in het Poolse Juragebergte. Na haar studies filologie woonde ze in Częstochowa, het volgende decennium bracht ze door op het Britse eiland Wight. Vandaag woont ze in East Tilbury aan de Thames.

Op haar actief staan: enkele dichtbundels, een keuze uit poëzie en proza Wzory skończoności i teorie przypadku/ Finite Formulae and Theories of Chance (vertaald door Marek Kazmierski), het ‘miniboek’ Polska prowincja (samen met Andrzej Muszyński) en het prozawerk Guguły, dat dat door het Teatr Dramatyczny uit Białystok werd bewerkt en op de planken gebracht (in Polen en Moldavië). In Wenen werd ze de laureate van de Złota Sowa Polonii (Gouden Uil van Polonia), en verder was ze finaliste van de Nike- en Gdyniaprijzen, evenals van de internationale Griffin Poetry Prize (Canada). In januari 2017 verschijnt bij Portobello Books (Groot-Brittannië) haar boek Swallowing Mercury.

Wioletta Grzegorzewska werd vertaald in het Engels, Spaans, Catalaans, Frans en het Welsh.
