The 9th TRANSPOESIE poetry festival takes place from September 26 until October 17”

From September European contemporary poetry will flood again Brussels. 23 countries and regions and 22 different languages will be represented with a poem this year and 19 poets will attend the festival!

Starting with the official launch on 26 September, four dedicated poetry events will feature on this year’s programme.

  • 26 September 2019, 7PM – MuntPunt - Poetry reading

The opening of Transpoesie 2019 at the Flamish library and meeting point MUNTPUNT will spotlight five talented voices:

  • Jan ŠKROB, The Czech Republic
  • Lív Maria RÓADÓTTIR JÆGER, The Faroe Islands
  • Elmar KUIPER, Friesland / The Netherlands

The famous booklovers’ spot in Saint Gilles is hosting the festival for the first time, offering a unique evening with poetry reading in 5 different languages:

The Hungarian Cultural Institute will host a stimulating evening with no fewer than four European poets who will reflect about life through poetry.

  • 17 October 2019, 7 PM LOFT 58 - Poetry reading

The final event of the festival, to be held for the first time at LOFT 58 in collaboration with MondoCultures, will make you discover the poetry of the North. Five renowned European poets will meet to discuss and read from their work:
